The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors recognized a local man and his nonprofit for relief efforts following Hurricane Helene. On Tuesday night, the Board presented Devin Taylor with a Certificate of Excellence for his service with Cabins 4 Christ and Campers Care.

The Board recognized Taylor’s dedication, compassion and visionary leadership in bringing the Pittsylvania County community together to build 75 cabins to ensure that displaced families and individuals have a place to call home.

His Cabins for Christ initiative has built emergency shelters for victims of Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina, providing much-needed relief to school employees and students in Buncombe County. Taylor and his team have worked tirelessly to ensure that those affected by the storm have a warm and secure place to rebuild their lives.

In addition to thanking God, the Board and key individuals, Mr. Taylor said, “I want to thank the entire business community of Pittsylvania County. They came together on a vision that was actually written on a white napkin. There are so many business owners in Pittsylvania County who trusted in this vision, invested in it, so we want to thank them.”
