Average gas prices across Virginia climbed eight cents this week to $2.96 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by six cents to $3.13 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville jumped by six cents this week to $2.79, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is up by two cents to $2.85 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price climbed by eight cents to $2.79 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is up by a dime to $2.81. Prices in Halifax County are up by eight cents this week to $2.90 a gallon.
