Sovah Health Danville is warning residents about a telephone scam. According to the hospital, they have received reports of a scam where individuals are receiving phone calls from an 866 number that spoofs as the hospital main line claiming to be a nurse that works for Sovah.

The individuals are not affiliated with Sovah. These scammers may try to steal personal information such as insurance IDs, and send illegitimate tests to your home disguised as coming from a medical provider in order to retrieve your personal information in return.

If you suspect a call is a scam, hang up immediately.
