Average gas prices across Virginia are up by a penny this week to $2.97 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is up by three cents to $3.16 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville climbed by three cents this week to $2.82, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is up by two cents for the second week in a row to $2.87 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is up by four cents to $2.83 a gallon and in Henry County the average price climbed by a nickel to $2.86. Prices in Halifax County are up by a penny this week to $2.91 a gallon.
