A man has been arrested after assaulting his girlfriend in Ruffin, NC. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, on April 1, deputies were informed that a 50-year-old female had been assaulted by her live-in boyfriend on March 27.

The female was interviewed by HELP Incorporated as well as Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office investigators. A Protective Order  was immediately acquired and warrants were taken out on the male perpetrator, 58-year-old Frank Donald Heffinger.

Heffinger was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with 2nd degree Kidnapping, Assault by Pointing a Gun, Discharging a Firearm Within an Enclosure to Incite Fear, and Misdemeanor Crimes of Domestic Violence. Heffinger was also served with the Protective Order (50B) and placed in the Rockingham County Detention Center with no bond.
