The Danville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 18 Carlson Avenue on Monday morning. Crews arrived on scene at 7:40 am to find moderate smoke coming from the residence and made entry into the home and located a fire in the front bedroom.

The home was searched for any occupants and none were located.  No other injuries were reported.

The fire was extinguished and fire personnel remained on scene while the Fire Marshal’s office investigated. The cause of the fire was determined to be discarded smoking materials.

The Danville Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville Electric, Danville Water & Gas, and the Danville Police Department.
