A man that was arrested for a homicide at a Danville apartment complex on Tuesday night was previously indicted for a homicide at the same complex. 32-year-old Richard Lee Wilson Jr. has been charged with second degree murder for the shooting death of 24-year-old Tasean Delvecchio Farmer.

Danville Police responded to the Woodside Village apartment complex at 10:49 pm on Tuesday and found Farmer inside an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported from the scene and pronounced dead at SOVAH Health.

Wilson was taken into custody in North Carolina after fleeing the scene and has been charged with second degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm during the commission of a violent felony, reckless handling of a firearm, and discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.

According to WSET, Wilson was also indicted for the shooting death of Darick Lamont Richardson, II. In July 2022, police responded to the Woodside Village Apartment Complex and found Richardson in the parking lot with gunshot wounds.

Richardson died in the hospital the following day. Wilson was indicted on a first degree murder charge by a grand jury in August.

Wilson was expected to face a jury trial in August 2023, but one of the witnesses in the case died two weeks before the trial. The indictment was then terminated because the Commonwealth of Virginia chose not to continue prosecuting the case.

The case of Richardson’s death remains open.
