Three people were injured during a shooting in Pittsylvania County on Saturday. At 2:41 pm, the Pittsylvania County 911 center received a report that several subjects had been shot at 2838 Sandy River Rd in Axton.

Upon arrival Deputies discovered 3 adults had gunshot wounds and those victims were triaged at the scene and flown to area hospitals for treatment. The suspect Telvin Hairston, 31, of Martinsville, was apprehended by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office a short time later in Henry County without incident.

The case is still being investigated. Hairston has been charged with three counts of malicious wounding, three counts use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, One count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felony, and one count of  armed burglary.
