Virginia Commonwealth University’s L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs has released the results of its most recent Commonwealth Poll. According to the poll, former President Donald Trump holds a 39% to 36% lead over President Joe Biden in Virginia.

President Biden’s approval rating is also at 36%. According to the poll, 53% of voters in Virginia say they are now less likely to vote for former President Trump following his criminal conviction in May. Also, 45% of Independent voters say they are now less likely to vote for Trump.

U.S. Senator Tim Kaine holds a 49% to 38% lead over Republican candidate Hung Cao in the poll. 50% of voters in the poll approve of the job Governor Glenn Youngkin is doing.

Voters in the poll listed rising cost of living, women’s reproductive rights, and immigration as the top issues about which they will make their decision to vote. The poll was conducted between June 24 and July 3.
