Two people in Henry County have been arrested after they attempted to run from their vehicle prior to drugs being found inside. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Narcotics Interdiction Unit stopped a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Charles Rydell Flood Jr. on Wednesday.

Flood and his passenger 20-year-old Elizabeth Mitchell both attempted to run, but were apprehended a short distance away.  A K9 alerted deputies to the possibility of narcotics inside the vehicle.

Deputies then searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine, fentanyl, a gun, and an undisclosed amount of money. Flood and Mitchell have both been arrested.

Flood has been charged with possession of a firearm by a violent felon, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm while possessing a schedule I or II drug, obstructing/resisting arrest, driving revoked, and multiple probation violations. Michell has been charged with three counts of assault and battery of a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and obstruction.

Both are now being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.
