The City of Martinsville held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday for a new workspace concept at Fayette Street Lofts. Located on the ground floor of the recently completed Fayette Street Lofts Building, a new concept in ample and affordable workspaces was introduced to Uptown Martinsville.

Geared to small businesses, nonprofits, and artists, nine “Make•Your•Space Studios” have been designed to provide the community affordable, professional, and sophisticated turn-key solutions for entrepreneurs and organizations interested in locating “in the center of it all” – a tagline used by the local developers to highlight their centralized Uptown location. 

The “Make•Your•Space” branding defines broad possibilities for tenants to personalize each individual studio space and make it their own. 

The studios range in size, from 617 to 940 sq feet, with low monthly rents, ranging from $495 to $650 per month. 

Last month, shortly after the building’s loft apartments were introduced, all twenty-five homes were quickly rented: a testament to the local need for workforce housing.
