Two high schools in Henry County will be getting new athletic field houses. The Henry County School Board announced that both Bassett and Magna Vista High School will be getting new athletic field houses.

The projects are being funded by a 1% sales tax that was approved by Henry County voters in 2020. The project at Bassett will cost just under $2 million and be built by Danville based Quality Construction.

The new field house at Magna Vista will cost $2.79 million and will include restrooms and concessions and will be built by Concrete Foundations in Gretna.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at both schools on September 4th. Henry County Schools also recently concluded a major renovation project at Bassett. Funds from the 1% sales tax were used for ceiling replacements and final updates to the HVAC system.
