(Ringgold, Va.) — An early morning fire destroyed a trailer in the J and D Mobile home Park.

Ringgold Volunteer Fire Chief Mike Neal says they were called to the address at 280 Milton Highway just before 6 a.m. Wednesday and found the trailer fully involved.

The mobile home on lot 25 was destroyed. Neal said it was uncertain whether the man who lives at address was still inside. Firefighters were able to beat back the flames to gain entry and found the trailer empty.

The occupant was located in a car a short distance from the fire. He told the fire marshal that he left a load of clothes in the dryer and that is apparently where the fire started.

Neal said the occupant had no insurance and is being assisted by the Red Cross.
