A crash in Pittsylvania County blocked traffic on U.S. 29 South near Deerwood Lane for several hours on Wednesday. Blairs Fire and Rescue responded to the crash that involved a tractor trailer and passenger vehicle at 2:42 pm.

When firefighters arrived they found the truck and trailer overturned with fire originating from the undercarriage. Crews quickly extinguished the fire.

The driver had to be extricated from the truck. All parties in the crash were treated and released at the scene.
