The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest for a 2013 double homicide. On October 6th, 2013, after being reported missing three days prior, 53-year-old Vicky Purdy’s body was found inside of a burned vehicle in the 800 block of Philpott Road in Franklin County near the Henry County line. Autopsy results revealed that Vicky had received a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was homicide.

On December 5th, 2013, 54-year-old Ricky Dodson’s body was found in a wooded area on Johnson Hill Road, about a mile from where Vicky Purdy’s vehicle and body were found. Manner of death was also determined to be homicide.

On Friday 43-year-old Daniel Elwood Duncan, of North Carolina, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Murder and two counts of Use or Display Firearm in Commission of a Felony.  Duncan is the nephew of Ricky Dodson and has been a person of interest since the start of the investigation.
