A member of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office has received a top award. Sergeant Michael Panos has received the 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 from the Virginia Sheriff’s Association.

Panos received the award for his bravery during a life-threatening incident. Sergeant Panos responded to a call involving an armed individual who was recklessly driving while brandishing a rifle. The suspect opened fire on passing vehicles and shot into an occupied vehicle, injuring an innocent driver. 

In response, Sergeant Panos engaged the suspect, utilizing his patrol rifle to neutralize the threat. His actions prevented further harm to others.
