A man was killed during a shooting in Pittsylvania County on Saturday. According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’ Office, at approximately 4 pm Deputies were dispatched to 573 Delta Drive in Hurt for a reported shooting incident.

Upon arrival, they found a male victim in the front yard with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Sovah Health in Gretna but later died.

The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Paul Glass Jr., of Hurt. Glass has been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for the Western District of Virginia where the cause and manner of death will be determined.

The Commonwealth’s Attorney is assisting the Investigators. Investigators consider this act to be limited to the area of the crime scene.

A suspect has been identified and was detained at the time of the incident; at this time charges are pending further investigation.
