A Bedford Man was killed in a crash in Pittsylvania County on Monday. Virginia State Police is investigating the single-vehicle crash that occurred at 12:13 pm on Route 626, one tenth of a mile south of Lumpkin Road in Pittsylvania County.

A 2022 Mack truck was traveling on Route 626, when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, crossing the center-line and overturned.

The driver of the Mack was identified as Samuel Lawrence Wright, 69, of Bedford, Va. Wright was wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
