A man arrested for the murder of his father in Caswell County in 2022 has been found guilty. 20-year-old Tyler David Crank was found guilty of first-degree murder on October 25 in Caswell County Superior Court.
Crank has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Crank received the possibility of parole because he was 17-years-old at the time of the murder. Under North Carolina law he must serve a minimum of 25 years in prison.
The crime occurred on February 23, 2022. Caswell County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported stabbing at 470 Green Pasture Lane in Ruffin, NC. Once deputies arrived they found Joey Crank Jr. unresponsive and suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
Joey Crank Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. Tyler Crank admitted to stabbing his father.
