Average gas prices across Virginia dropped by a nickel this week to $3.00 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is down by three cents to $3.10 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville dropped by five cents to $2.84, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is also down by a nickel this week to $2.88 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is down by three cents for the second week in a row to $2.91 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is down by three cents to $2.95. Prices in Halifax County fell by 14 cents to $3.02 a gallon.
