A company that was wanting to build a large data center campus and power plant in Pittsylvania County has withdrawn the request, but plans on applying again. A statement from Balico LLC founder Irfan Ali that was released on Monday, says that the company is withdrawing the request in its current form.
However, Ali says they have identified assorted changes to the plan that they believe will address many questions posed and, at the same time, improve the proposal.
Ali made it clear that at this time they aren’t abandoning the plan. The previous proposal called for the project to be built on over 2,200 acres in the Chalk Level community. The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors notified the company that they wouldn’t support the project.
