Average gas prices across Virginia dropped by a nickel this week to $2.95 a gallon, while the average price of gas across the country is down by two cents to $3.05 a gallon, according to AAA.

The average price of gas in Danville fell by nine cents this week to $2.82, while the average price in Pittsylvania County is up by two cents this week to $2.90 a gallon.

In Martinsville the average price is down by five cents to $2.83 a gallon and in Henry County the average price dropped by six cents to $2.86. Prices in Halifax County fell by six cents to $3.06 a gallon.
