An Averett University plane crashed during a training flight in South Carolina on Saturday. Two people were in the single-engine Piper Archer TX when it crashed, but there were no injuries.
The incident has been reported to the National Transportation Safety Board. The plane was on the way back to Danville on Saturday afternoon from Savannah Hilton Head Airport in Georgia when the crash occurred in a marshy landscape just after takeoff.
The two pilots were rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter.
