The Otterbots announced that former big leaguer Mickey Tettleton will return as their manager for the 2025 season. Tettleton, a two-time MLB All-Star and three-time Silver Slugger Award winner, brought home a championship to Danville in his first season as the ‘Bots skipper in 2024.
“I am very excited to be returning as the Otterbots manager this summer,” Tettleton said. “The experience that the coaching staff and players had last season was incredible, and the support from our wonderful fan base was first class. I look forward to our players and their families getting an opportunity to experience the great atmosphere that Legion Field has to offer.”
The Otterbots had a 31-17 record in the 2024 regular season, defeating the Burlington Sock Puppets in the Divisional Championship and Greeneville Flyboys in the Appalachian League Championship. Danville also produced eight All-Star selections, tied for the league-high.
Tettleton and the Otterbots are set to open the 2025 season June 5 in Greeneville before their home opener June 9. The entire coaching staff will be announced in the coming months.
