DANVILLE, VA — Two people suffered minor injuries in a house fire on Glendale Ave.

The Danville Fire Department responded 772 Glendale at 5:45 Sunday afternoon and found a small one story house with smoke coming from the rear of the home.

Crews entered the house, traced the fire to the kitchen and knocked the flames down quickly.

Two residents were found outside the home. One was treated and transported by the Danville Life Saving Crew for a burn to the arm and smoke inhalation. The other was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and released.

The kitchen was the only room damaged by fire, but smoke and heat damage was reported throughout the home. The fire started in some unattended cooking.

The occupants are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
