EDEN, N.C. — Authorities are looking for an Eden man in connection with a kidnapping and a shooting.

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and Eden police are looking for 37-year-old Jesse Edwards in connection with several crimes that happened Sunday night.

Investigators say Edwards held a rifle on another person at a home on Oregon Hill Road in Ruffin and demanded to be driven to an address on Morgan Road in Eden.

Edwards was reportedly angry about an incident that had happened at that location earlier.

The person took Edwards to the address and Edwards then fired five shots at the home while inside the person’s vehicle.

Edwards then instructed the person to drop him off at a bridge on North Carolina 14 in Eden, after which, the man called the sheriff’s department.

At about 10:30 p.m., Eden police went to the address on Morgan Road and discovered that  34-year-old Pamela Dawn Lucas of Stoneville had been shot in the leg. She had already been taken to UNC Rockingham in Eden.

Edwards is considered armed and dangerous. He is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, larceny of a firearm, assault by pointing a gun and first-degree kidnapping.
