(Danville, VA) – Danville Community College has partnered with the new owner of a childcare facility on campus to allow parents who are taking classes to focus on their studies.  Helping Hands Child Development Center had their grand opening on Monday.

Center Owner and Program Director Jessica Testerman brings with her 16 years of experience, having worked at SOVAH Health, most recently as director of the hospital’s child development center.

While Helping Hands is privately owned it offers a unique and seamless partnership for college programs.  It will also provide opportunities for nursing and dental clinicals and experiential learning through the college’s early childhood education and development programs.

The center accepts children from six weeks of age through 12 years and they have also added a pre-kindergarten class for children that are four years old to help get them ready for the following school year.
