DANVILLE, Va. – Service in the downtown and north Danville areas has been restored after the Bridge Street substation went down during the height of Thursday’s severe thunderstorms.
Utility crews continue working in the Westover area. Two circuits from the Westover substation and serving about 1,600 customers remain out of service. Linemen plan to isolate the damage to restore service to as many customers as possible tonight.
At the height of the storm, more than 5,000 customers were without power.
