BLACKSBURG, Va. – The FBI has pledged $28,000 for information in a double homicide ten years ago, bringing the total reward to $100,000.
It’s been a decade since two Virginia Tech students were brutally murdered in Jefferson National Forest, but no arrests have been made in the case.
Heidi Childs and David Metzler were both shot to death in the Caldwell Fields parking lot of the Jefferson National Forest in Montgomery County.
Authorities announced last week that a group of 10 agencies would be reexamining evidence from the 2009 killing of the then-sophomores.
State police said they hope the reward will generate renewed interest and information.
