DANVILLE, Va. – Danville’s water treatment plant is now using a carbon treatment after local residents complained of a “musty” smell in their drinking water.
A news release from the city indicates plant operators began treating the water on Thursday. The cause of the smell has not been determined but – according to the City of Danville – the water is safe for drinking.
Some customers may not see immediate results from the carbon treatment and may experience a smell for several days.
The cause of the odor problem is under investigation.
