PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – A Mount Hermon home was gutted in an early morning fire but the family made it out of their home safely.
Firefighters from Blairs, Mount Hermon and Mount Cross battled the fire at a home in the 4200 block of the Franklin Turnpike, near Mount Hermon Circle. A gas station is located alongside the large frame house, but firefighters contained the fire and kept it from spreading.
The call came in about 12:45 Wednesday morning and crews were on scene within minutes. The house was fully involved when the first units arrived.
The fire’s cause has not been determined.
