SOUTH BOSTON. Va. – A second man has been charged in the murders of two South Boston brothers.
18-year-old Andrew James Harlow is charged with two counts of Accessory to Kill and Murder. Harlow is being held in the Halifax Adult Detention Center without bond.
An unidentified 17-year-old was earlier charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the shooting deaths, which happened Saturday night outside a vape store on the Old Halifax Road.
South Boston Police found two men lying on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. 20-year-old Davonte Shamar Powell was pronounced dead at the scene. Powell was shot in the head.
The second victim was his younger brother, 17-year-old Tevin Powell. He was taken by helicopter to Duke University Medical Center, where he died several hours after suffering a gunshot wound to the neck.
Authorities say Harlow turned himself in on Monday and was taken before a magistrate judge who ordered that he be held without bail.
