DANVILLE, Va. – A fire at a home on the Bradley Road was confined to one room.
Crews responded to 425 Bradley Road at 3:45 pm Wednesday afternoon and found a small, one-story home with smoke coming from the windows on the side of the house. The fire was knocked down quickly and damage was confined to the kitchen.
The family was outside the home when firefighters arrived and there were no injuries.
The fire started when an outlet shorted and burned the baseboard. Flames damaged a cabinet and the back of the stove, which was not in use at the time of the fire.
The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
