DANVILLE, Va. – The Danville Fire Department is helping God’s Storehouse as the demand for food increases during the pandemic.
All seven fire stations are now collecting donations for the food pantry, which has seen an increase in demand as people have lost their jobs during the coronavirus outbreak. Each station is now equipped with food collection bins
God’s Storehouse is finding it difficult to purchase food from usual suppliers and food donations from individuals, civic groups, businesses, faith organizations and schools are down by more than one-third over the past month.
Volunteers have seen about 200 people stopping by to get food for their families and the Danville Fire Department is stepping up to fill the void by accepting donations.
