DANVILLE, Va. – Brookdale Danville Piedmont, an assisted living facility at 149 Executive Court, confirms that more than one person at the company’s Danville Piedmont location has tested positive for COVID-19 and that one person who tested positive has died. COVID-19 has not been confirmed as the cause of death.

The exact number of COVID-19 cases at Brookdale was not released.

A statement from the company confirmed that “more than one member of our Brookdale Danville Piedmont community tested positive for COVID-19,” adding that one person diagnosed with COVID-19 has died. “We do not have confirmation on the cause of death at this time. We are deeply saddened by this loss and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends,” the statement read.

The assisted living facility said that it has informed residents, their family members, and employees at the facility and is “diligently monitoring residents and associates for signs and symptoms” and working directly with local health officials. Brookdale Danville Piedmont announced it will continue to follow the guidance of the Danville Health Department during the outbreak.
