FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – The state medical examiner has ruled that two women whose bodies were recovered from a submerged SUV in Smith Mountain Lake died of accidental drowning.
42-year-old Bridgett Clark and 40-year-old Becky Williams were last seen on Saturday, April 18, as they headed to the Smith Mountain Lake area of Franklin County.
Their Ford Explorer was pulled from the lake in the Glade Hill area of Franklin County a week later, with both bodies inside.
Medical Examiner Sara Ohanessian ruled Clark and Williams’ cause of death as accidental drowning.
