FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police have located a vehicle connected to a homicide in Henry County. Troopers located a red, 2010 Jeep Compass with Virginia tags VFV-5461 in Franklin County Wednesday night.

The probe began Wednesday morning after a relative returned home to find a 64-year-old woman dead of an apparent gunshot wound inside their home at 1385 Wingfield Orchard Road. The owner of the home is a retired sheriff’s deputy.

Henry County authorities had asked the public to be on the lookout for the vehicle, which was missing from the crime scene. State police were called in to assist and found the car in Franklin County Wednesday.

Investigators say they are questioning several people in connection with the death.
