CHATHAM, Va. – One person was injured in an early morning fire that destroyed a Chatham home.

The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office says crews responded to a fire at a home in the 900 block of Hickory Road. The call was received just before midnight and flames were visible when the first units arrived.

WSET 13 reports that one person was injured and that the home was damaged beyond repair.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
