(Huddleston, VA) – The Bedford County Sheriff’s office arrested a man in connections with an assault in an incident near Smith Mountain Lake on Saturday.

Authorities have charged Dustin Holdren, 34, with aggravated malicious wounding after a realtor called 911 just after 2pm after having just been assaulted.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of several skull fractures as a result of the assault and is expected to stay in the hospital for a few weeks..  The realtor was showing a home in the Mariner’s landing subdivision when the assault occurred.

The Bedford County Sheriff’s office is investigating the incident and additional charges are pending.
