PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police have identified the man killed in a Tuesday morning crash in Pittsylvania County as 62-year-old Lee Tucker Bernard of Gretna.

The accident happened on Route 58 just before 3 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the investigating trooper, Bernard was operating a Ford F-150 and was headed west on 58 when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road. The driver overcorrected and crossed the center line, causing the truck to go off the left side of the road. The pickup overturned and Bernard was thrown from the cab.

Bernard was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.
