DANVILLE, Va. – A company that wants to build a huge casino complex on the former Schoolfield Mill site is about to mount a massive media blitz.
Caesars plans a campaign that will include social media and town hall meetings, starting in September.
Local leaders will spearhead the effort as Caesars pushes for passage of a referendum in November. That’s when local voters will decide if they want the gaming establishment.
Organizers say the casino would generate over $30 million a year for Danville and create more than 2,000 jobs during the construction phase and beyond.
