DANVILLE, Va. – The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 243 Epps Street just before 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, units found a detached garage fully involved with flames threatening a nearby home. Crews evacuated occupants from the house and worked to stem the fire’s spread.

The garage was a total loss and the home received damage to the exterior. Firefighters kept the flames from spreading to the house and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Three engines, one ladder truck, a safety officer and a chief officer were on scene for two hours.
