FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – The search for a missing Franklin County man ended Sunday with the discovery of his body not far from his home.

65-year-old James William “Bill” Gillispie had earlier been listed as a missing person by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

He was last seen leaving home on foot at around 7 p.m. Thursday in the area of Colonial Turnpike in Glade Hill.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said that the investigation into Gillispies’s death is ongoing but that they do not suspect foul play.
