HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A Martinsville man died at the scene of a Sunday crash in Henry County.

Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on the A. L .Philpott Highway just west of Evergreen Drive shortly after 2:35 a.m. Sunday.

A 2008 Chevrolet Impala was traveling west on when it ran off the left side of the road into the median, struck a guard rail and overturned.

The driver, Logan G. Copening, Jr., 43, of Martinsville, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
