DANVILLE, Va. – Another winter storm is headed our way. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Danville and the surrounding region starting Saturday evening and extending through Sunday morning.

The NWS says heavy snow is possible, with an an accumulation of as much as 4-to-8 inches possible.

An area of low pressure is expected to develop Saturday night along the central Gulf Coast Saturday, then move northeast along the Mid-Atlantic coast by Sunday morning. This will result in a period of moderate to heavy snow in the Danville area Saturday night and early Sunday.

In our area, this system will bring snow to central, south central, southwest and west central Virginia, north central and northwest North Carolina, and southeast West Virginia.
