DANVILLE, Va. – Three Danville Police officers were promoted during ceremonies held in City Council Chambers on Monday.

Jonathan Epps was named a lieutenant; Richard Marlowe was promoted to the rank of sergeant; and David Branch is now a corporal on the Danville Police Department.

Danville Police Chief Scott Booth praised the three for their diligence and dedication,  saying: “I am proud of the three of you and I am proud of this department.”

The promotions are effective July 1.
