SALEM, Va. – Two people were injured – one seriously – when a teenage gunman opened fire at the Salem Fair Wednesday night.
It was opening night for the midway but the festivities were interrupted by gunshots just before 9 p.m.
The fairgrounds were cleared as police detained and arrested the gunman, who is described as a male under 16.
Two victims were located. One suffered serious injuries while the second victim was treated at Carillion Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police are still looking for eyewitnesses. A motive hasn’t been established and the shooting incident remains under investigation.
