FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – Three months after a man was found dead in Franklin County, authorities have charged a suspect with second-degree murder in the shooting.
The body of 58-year-old William Kirk O’Dell, of West Virginia, was found in a camper at a home on Bethlehem Road on March 12th, about two weeks after family members reported that he was missing.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Maurice Allen Jones of Roanoke was charged Tuesday and is being held at the Roanoke City Jail on no bond.
Jones and a woman were jailed on unrelated charges on April 1st. Investigators said at the time that both were “persons of interest” in O’Dell’s death.
