ROCKY MOUNT, Va. – A hearing for a former Rocky Mount officer charged in the January 6th siege of the Capitol has been postponed for a second time after Thomas Robertson had more technology problems on Thursday.

WSLS 10 reports that the earlier delay was granted because Robertson wasn’t able to speak to his attorney in private during the virtual proceeding. After the latest postponement on Thursday, the federal judge asked that Robertson be taken to Washington to attend his hearing in-person to ensure he has due process.

Prosecutors are seeking to have him arrested a second time after FBI agents reportedly found an M4 rifle, ammunition and a partially assembled pipe bomb when they raided his house on June 29.

Robertson says the rifle belongs to his son; however, prosecutors say he didn’t claim the weapon the day of the raid.
