Centra Health System is requiring that all of its employees get vaccinated.
Monday’s announcement came in the form of a memo to the company’s 7,600 employees.
All will need to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 1 and first doses must to be administered on Oct. 1.
Certain exemptions for religious and medical reasons will apply.
Those not vaccinated by Nov. 1 will be placed on a two-week suspension. If they do not comply, they will be fired.
Richard Tugman, interim Central president and Central Executive Officer, said “as a regional healthcare provider, it is our responsibility to take a stand and do our part to protect those who place their trust in us.”
